Privacy Policy

Casting Afrik (“Casting Afrik”, “we”, “us”) operates www.castafrik.com, a casting platform based in Ghana that connects artists with agencies and casting directors. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@castafrik.com or +233 27 251 9733.

• Account information — your name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed, never in readable form) and account type.
• Profile information you choose to publish — photos, showreels and work samples, physical attributes, skills, experience, location and any biography you write. This is the information agencies search, so treat it as public within the platform.
• Applications and activity — the auditions you apply to, shortlists you appear on, and messages exchanged through the platform.
• Payment records — the plan purchased, amount, currency, date and a reference from our payment provider. We never receive or store your card number, CVV or PIN.
• Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics.

• To create and run your account, and to show your profile to agencies searching for talent.
• To process applications to auditions and let agencies contact shortlisted artists.
• To take payment for subscriptions and unlocks, and to prove that you paid.
• To send service messages such as password resets, payment confirmations and application updates.
• To detect fraud, fake casting calls and abuse, and to keep the platform safe.
• To understand which parts of the site are used, so we can improve them.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

• Agencies and casting directors on the platform — they see your artist profile and the applications you submit to them. That is the purpose of the service.
• Paystack, our payment processor, which handles card and mobile money transactions and holds the payment details we never see.
• Google Analytics, which we use to measure site usage.
• Our hosting and storage providers, who run the servers and store uploaded media on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud or protect someone's safety.

If you generate a shareable profile or landing link, anyone holding that link can view the profile content without signing in — that is what the link is for. Do not include information on your profile that you are not comfortable being seen publicly. You can ask us to disable a shared link at any time.

We use cookies and browser local storage for two things: keeping you signed in (an authentication token stored in your browser) and analytics. Clearing your browser storage signs you out. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the site.

We keep your account and profile for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and media, but we retain payment and transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law in Ghana requires. Anonymous analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

You can ask us at any time to:

• See the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong — most of it you can edit yourself from your dashboard.
• Delete your account and profile.
• Stop sending you non-essential messages.

Email info@castafrik.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.

Traffic to and from this site is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and access to profile data is restricted to authenticated accounts with the right role. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

You must be at least 18 to hold an account. A parent or legal guardian may manage a profile on behalf of a performer under 18, and is responsible for that account and for any media uploaded to it.
